WAM is excited to announce the launch of the Regional Youth Music Program, a free after-school music program designed for young people aged 12–18 living in regional Western Australia. This initiative provides a safe, inclusive and supportive space for young people to connect with others, explore their creativity and build skills in music.
In 2025, the program will be delivered across three regional locations:
Term 3 – Geraldton & Esperance
Term 4 – Bunbury
For Term 3, WAM is proud to partner with Regional Sounds to deliver the program in Geraldton and Kyza Presents to deliver the program in Esperance.
This program has been thoughtfully designed with the help and input of participants from WAM’s Regional Roundtable meetings in 2023 and 2024. Through these conversations, we worked closely with local industry and artists to identify how this program could be delivered in a way that best meets the needs of young people in regional areas, acknowledging the unique challenges they face when accessing music opportunities and creative pathways.
Participants will take part in weekly after-school sessions where they will:
🎸 Jam and collaborate with others
📝 Write and develop original songs
🎤 Learn performance skills, stagecraft and stage etiquette
💡 Build confidence to express themselves creatively
The program wraps up with a live performance, giving participants the opportunity to showcase their growth and the music they’ve created throughout the term.
Registrations close Thursday 24 July.
Registrations for Bunbury in Term 4 will open at a later date.
This program is proudly funded by Healthway to share the Act Belong Commit message, promoting positive mental health and wellbeing through community connection and creativity.
