Ben Catley to support USA blues royalty Walter Trout on upcoming Aus tour

“Local acoustic guitar virtuoso Ben Catley to support USA blues royalty Walter Trout on upcoming Aus tour. Saturday February 3rd at Freo Social.”

Walter Trout, considered one of the greatest living blues-rock guitarists, took Eric Clapton’s place in The Bluesbreakers in the 80s, as well as playing for John Lee Hooker and Canned Heat. He has released over 30 albums across his 50-year-long career.

Scarborough-based Ben Catley’s high energy style of blues/rock/roots guitar playing seems only fitting to open the evening on Feb 3rd.

After a big 2023 touring the UK, New Zealand and with plenty of shows and festivals around WA (including BLUESFEST Perth, Blues at Bridgetown and WA Guitar Festival), Ben kicks into the new year supporting the USA blues great. To follow, Ben will perform at The Ellington Jazz Club in Perth, after two previous full-house shows there recently.

“A tour de force of contemporary acoustic guitar styles… A virtuoso guitarist.” – Xpress Mag
