The full program of events will highlight the quality of Western Australia’s music scene, featuring over 70 local acts across 13 venues across the State. Along with the must-attend industry conference WAMCON, WA Music Week will also include WAM’s Showcase across four iconic Northbridge venues – open to the public.

Quotes attributed to WAM CEO, Owen Whittle:
“The return of WA Music Week is a significant moment for the music scene in our State that has been going from strength to strength and is producing by far the best music in the country. ”
“This is the chance for music lovers across the State to see the breakout artists out of WA. We all have a story of seeing Tame Impala at The Prince, Spacey Jane at Mojos or Eskimo busking in Freo. WA Music Week is your chance to brag for years about catching the next big thing early.”
“National industry will be coming to WA to see the talent that will be platformed at WA Music Week and to work with our musicians to develop skills to assist them with taking the next step.”
“WAM is proud to also launch our inaugural Artist Mentorship Program which will help 8 emerging and unsigned artists develop skills to assist them with national and international export.
“Our local music grows out of the spotlight of the national music industry, it doesn’t follow the rules set by the trends, set by streaming services and platforms which means it leads to creating wildly West Australian music. The best in the country”.
Comments attributed to Minister for Creative Industries Simone McGurk:
“We’re proud to support WA Music Week – which is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate all our talented Western Australian musicians and give them the chance to network, learn and connect.
“This is an opportunity for audiences to get a taste of the huge array of music talent on offer in our state.
“Importantly, it’s also an opportunity for new artists to be discovered and to perform for bookers, agents, labels and other music industry professionals.
“WA really has the best music in the country and this week is the opportunity to showcase our diverse range of musical talents.”
WA Music Week wouldn’t be possible without support from the WA Government & Edith Cowan University.
