Figurehead ‘Spark’ Single Launch

Figurehead have developed into a formidable young force on the West Australian Music scene since their inception back in 2015.

‘Spark’, the bands first release since 2023, is without a doubt the pinnacle of their musical output thus far; with confident, infectious vocal melodies; airtight production and dynamic performances – Figurehead feel like they’ve arrived on ‘Spark’.
‘Spark’ was recorded along with two other singles during a week-long stay at Tone City Recording Studio in Yalingup, with producer Sam Ford (Dice, Dear Sunday, Siobhan Cotchin). One could draw sonic comparisons to Australian indie contemporaries The Rions, South Summit or The Vanns on ‘Spark’- but the sound Figurehead have conjured on this recent release still feels wholly their own. With expansive instrumentation that fills up every corner of the track, the up-and-coming 6-piece sound like they are destined for festival stages on their latest single.
Thematically, ‘Spark’ looks at trying to move on in the wake of a breakup – and using that time as a motivator to better yourself.

“The song explores how even when someone leaves your life, the time shared with them can be a catalyst for inner change and learning. The chorus lyrics ‘I believe, if I’m the flame then you’re the spark’, drive the theme of the song home, encouraging positive personal growth after a failed relationship.” JOE CADDY

To celebrate the release of ‘Spark’, Figurehead will be playing a single launch show at Clancy’s Fremantle on Saturday the 15th of February – with support from Solara, Hazel & Devon Street.
