Following a strategic pause in 2024, the event returns in 2025 with a renewed focus. More intimate in scale and dedicated to spotlighting WA’s talent within existing venues, helping to strengthen and support the local live music scene.
In addition to the Showcase, WAM is inviting artists who are ready to elevate their music beyond local borders apply for WAM’s new Artist Mentorship Program. This program offers tailored career development for a select group of showcasing artists who have built momentum within the WA music scene and are now ready to take their career to the next level.
As part of the program, participants will gain access to professional development workshops, personalised mentoring, facilitated industry connections at WAMCon and receive a professionally filmed video of their showcase performance. The program begins one month prior to WAMCon, with participants expected to commit to up to four months of development work following WA Music Week. The successful applicants for this program will be selected by a panel of music industry professionals.
