Applications for WOMPP’s Writers Camp open on Monday September 2, 2024! Applications close Midnight AWST on Friday September 13, 2024.
About the camp:
WOMPP’s Writers Camp is open to women, non-binary and transgender music makers (aged 18+) with experience in songwriting, music production and/or composition. Music makers with experience in either solo and/or collaborative writing are encouraged to apply.
WOMPP’s Writers Camp will be held over three days (8am-5pm Wednesday November 20, 9am-5pm Thursday November 21 and 9am-5pm Friday November 22). The camp will be held at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA), where studio space and equipment will be provided. During the camp, producers and songwriters will work in collaborative groups to write/produce new music. During the collaborative writing process, camp attendees will be mentored by professional songwriters, producers and industry personnel.
Successful applicants will be notified by September 22, 2024 via email. There is no cost in applying for, or participating in the WOMPP Writers Camp. Successful applicants will be provided with food and drink for the duration of the camp, as well as a daily stipend.
Information for Perth-based applicants (six positions available):
Six out of nine of the available slots will be reserved for Perth-based applicants. All successful local participants will be provided with food and drink for the duration of the camp and free parking on-site. Travel costs will not be covered for the duration of the camp and no further per diems will be provided outside of those listed above.
Information for Regional Western Australian-based applicants (one position available):
One out of nine of the available slots will be reserved for a regional Western Australian-based applicant. The successful regional WA participant will be fully funded to attend the camp. All flights/travel costs, accommodation and additional per diems will be covered by WOMPP if you are successful in your regional WA application.
Information for interstate applicants (two positions available):
Two out of nine of the available slots will be reserved for interstate applicants. Successful interstate participants will be fully funded to attend the camp. All flights, accommodation and additional per diems will be covered by WOMPP if you are successful in your interstate application.
Information about Ableton Scholarship (one out of the nine selected positions from all locations):
One participant (Perth, WA regional or interstate) will be awarded an Ableton Scholarship, providing them with 1 x Ableton Live 12 Suite license valued at $1099AUD. This scholarship will be awarded on the following criteria:
– Commitment to innovative practice
– Financial hardship
– Future Artistic impact of the scholarship
