WAmming Ways

10 Apr

Since WAM released the Sounds of the South West CD in February, we have now received global feedback with tracks  featuring on community stations across Australia and even in the Cocos Islands! A number of artists have rated highly in the AirIt Charts too, including The Ten Cent Shooters who still remain as a player in the AirIT Great Southern Top 10. And then there’s the irrepressible Codee-Lee who keeps on getting better traction in the iTunes Country Chart Of, now being placed at #4, above Taylor Swift and Willie Nelson!. Of course you too can listen to the compilation for free here.

On the subject of winning, congratulations to The Amani Consort who won the Breakthrough to Blues ‘n’ Roots competition to earn the funk and soul champs a spot on the West Coast Blues’n’Roots line-up happening this weekend in Fremantle. Also thanks to the likes of WA-bred acts Bob Evans and Eskimo Joe who kept DIG listeners entertained before the station transitions to Double J.
