WA Music Conference venue announced + Last chance WAM Festival opportunities

27 Aug

More than 10,000 music-lovers threw their hands up for WA music last year at the many events that made up the WAM Festival, including the introduction of a packed-out Block Party and a freshly formatted Saturday Spectacular that had record-breaking crowds lining up to get into venues early in the day. Extending to an epic four days of incredible WA-stocked experiences, taking place Thursday 5 – Sunday 8 November, it’s your last chance to be involved, and some key happenings and venue to mark in…

WAM is excited to announce this year’s WA Music Conference, with the support of the Perth Theatre Trust, will be held at the State Theatre Centre of WA, utilising the state of the art facilities in The Studio Underground, Foyer and additional rooms. The state’s leading performing arts theatre will offer a dynamic environment for audiences to engage with an all-star cast of leading international and national music industry professionals in captivating, inspiring and informative panel sessions, radio pitching sessions, one-on-one meetings and exclusive networking sessions.

After huge leaps forward last year, the WA Music Conference is now officially the must-attend event for everyone from band members to producers, managers, music students, industry professionals, bookers, soundies and music fans, so mark the WA Music Conference in for Friday 6 – Saturday 7 November. Also mark in Wednesday 2 September, with earlybird tickets going on sale for a limited time and saving purchasers up to 50% on ticket prices!

The final call for acts to apply to be featured on the Kiss My WAMi compilation closes midday this Friday 28 August. Successful applicants will see their songs from the last year distributed to the music industry and radio stations all over Australia. WAM is increasingly driving direct outcomes for artists, and Kiss My WAMi is one such initiative, designed to benefit acts with everything from increased airplay and touring opportunities to top placement in film and TV.

It is also the final call for acts to apply to showcase at this year’s WAM Festival with applications likewise closing midday this Friday 28 August. With the mission of evolving the festival to achieve even more exciting celebrations of WA music, WAM Festival Coordinator Greg Sanders continues his search for a mix of diverse talent to showcase at the festival’s many events – including free public events to industry-focused and ticketed ones.

Reaching a wide range of engaged and active music audiences and consumers, the WAM Festival offers a multitude of rewarding opportunities for businesses – from branded presenting rights to WA Music Awards sponsorship and creative site activations.
