Song of the Year 2018/19 applications opening SOON

8 Jan

WA’s greatest songwriting competition returns, albeit a little later than usual…

You’ve now got more time to fine-tune your best tracks as applications for this year’s WAM Song of the Year competition aren’t opening until late February.

The later start date comes in an effort to improve the application and voting process, with a new online platform currently in the works. We’re incredibly excited to launch this year’s competition on the new platform and are confident it will be worth the wait!

In the meantime, subscribe to WAM’s e-news to be the first to hear about WAM Song of the Year 2018/19 prizes, judges, dates and more!

About WAM Song of the Year

WAM’s Song Of The Year is an annual competition, promoting the talented, original songwriting of West Australian residents and embracing contemporary music of all genres, in addition to offering school-age, indigenous and regional categories. The songs are anonymously and independently judged by an expansive range of music industry experts, with the winner of each category also in the running for the Grand Prize. This arrangement presents a rare exposure opportunity for WA songwriters to showcase their talents to industry practitioners and fans alike across the country and overseas, with the winners announced at the Awards Night, further showcasing homegrown talent at its best!
