The Sewing Room

Potential new venue The Sewing Room asks for your help

11 May

Perth has a potential new venue in the making, The Sewing Room aiming to provide a space, infrastructure and support for emerging local artists from all artistic spheres. The proposed venue has lodged plans with the City of Perth but their “next challenge will be Liquor Licensing and for this we will need all the support we can get”.

The Sewing Room aims to open an amazing new live music venue in the basement of one of Perth’s most beautiful old buildings at 317 Murray Street with plans to transform the basement into a world class live music venue. The building in Wolf Lane was built in the late 1800s and was once the main manufacturing space and sewing room for the Pierucci fashion empire.

“All great cities have music at their heart. Sadly Perth is losing most of its live music and performance spaces, so it is critical that more spaces be made available.”
