WAMFEST APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN
WAMFest is back for 2018 and is once again packed with HUGE value showcasing opportunities for West Australian artists! Last year over 300 artists performed to more than 40,000 punters and music industry delegates from all over the world, and this year it’s all happening again from 31 October – 4 November (plus, regional and local council events in the weeks leading up, to be revealed). SONGWRITING WORKSHOP WITH CARLA GENEVE
Rock Scholars are delighted to be putting on three hour songwriting workshops hosted by WA singer-songwriter Carla Geneve. Happening Wednesday 4 July this is not one to be missed, but get in quick as places are limited. Ages 12-18 welcome to apply.

BANDS, BUDGETS, AND BALANCING THE BOOKS WORKSHOP
Join APRA AMCOS and WAM for a practical session aimed at helping you manage the business side of things, from accounting and tax tips, to publicity and how to factor campaigns into your financial strategy. Cash whisperer Kylie Thompson of Sorrento Strategic Music and music industry allrounder Simon ‘Skinny’ O’Leary of Hyperfest and WAMFest spearhead this extremely practical workshop at The Bird on 6PM Tuesday 3 July. Tickets free for WAM Members who RSVP, $10 for non-members who RSVP, and $15 on the door.

SEEKING BANDS TO PLAY ‘LIVE AT THE BBRC’
Presented by Bayswater non-profit community organisation the Baysie Rollers, ‘Live At The BBRC’ is an exploration of live original West Australian music held on the second Sunday of every month at much-loved Bayswater Bowling & Recreation Club. The event is gaining traction and they’re now looking for more talented original WA bands to keep the family crowd entertained. They generally program two bands, playing an hour set each, for every event, and can offer a fee of $250.

LIVE:DIY – FREE MUSIC INDUSTRY SKILLS WORKSHOP
YMCA HQ, Behind The Wall and Cool Perth Nights are hosting a FREE series of music industry workshops for young people between 12 and 25 who are in bands or keen on developing their career in the music industry. All sessions are delivered by music industry professionals and include specialist input from WA music identities and industry pros. Booking are essential as spaces are strictly limited.

AUSTRALIAN MUSIC WEEK ARTIST SHOWCASE APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN
Artist showcase applications are now open for Australian Music Week 2018, which takes place in Cronulla from 7-11 November. AMW is searching for more than 100 acts, across a range of genres to put in front of top-notch talent scouts from around the globe. We’d love to see plenty of top WA talent on show, so get your applications in.
