CONTROL APPLICATIONS CLOSE THIS FRIDAY FOR MANAGERS!

WANTED: MUSICIANS AND MUSIC FANS FOR INTERVIEWS ABOUT MUSIC IN RURAL SPACES
moreinfoWould you like to be interviewed for an innovative PhD project about music making and consuming within rural spaces? Are you involved in or know about a rural based music scene? Are you between the ages of 14 and 30 years and live in the Margaret River region? In conjunction with Griffith University School of Cultural Research, this research project is recruiting participants for 45 minute face –to-face interviews. DCA PEER ASSESSOR PANELS
moreinfoEvery three years, DCA issues a call-out to the arts and creative industry sectors in WA seeking expressions of interest for appointment to a pool of peer assessors for DCA’s grants programs.  Successful candidates are appointed for a three-year term and assigned to panels as required on the basis of their individual expertise, experience and/or as representatives of particular community sectors. As the appointment term for the current pool concludes this year, DCA has now commenced recruiting for the pool of peer assessors for 2017 to 2019. Arts, cultural and creative practitioners, workers and professionals are invited to submit an Expression of Interest to DCA by Friday 30 September 2016, 4pm.

CITY OF JOONDALUP ARTS DEVELOPMENT SCHEME
moreinfo The Arts Development Scheme is designed to develop new audiences within the Joondalup area. The scheme provides an opportunity for professional performing arts organisations in Western Australia to develop an audience base in the northern metropolitan area of Perth. Organisations, individuals and collectives can apply for up to $10,000.00. Applications close on Thursday 20 October 2016.

PEEL REGION MUSIC INDUSTRY CATCH UP

FLYING MUSICIANS ASSOCIATION 2017 SOLO MUSIC SCHOLARSHIP
moreinfo The 2017 Solo Music Scholarship program will fund scholarships to high school students who have been nominated by their band/music director. This scholarship is unique as it offers the recipient the opportunity to learn to fly. The selected student will be awarded a flight training scholarship with a participating flight instructor or school in his or her area. Flying Musicians Association members will be there to mentor that student pilot in both aspirations — aviation and music. Deadline for nominations is Tuesday 31 January 2017.

INSPIRE 9.1: BUSINESS PLANNING FOR THE CREATIVE ENTREPRENEUR

FINAL CALL FOR CATALYST GRANT APPLICATIONS
moreinfoCatalyst closes 30 September 2016 for projects starting from 1 January 2017. CAN will host two FREE events to assist applicants seeking funding for their community arts project, or community artists seeking research and development grants. Catalyst funding has contributed to WAM’s regional programs and is a great place to start for community artists.

THE UNIFIED GRANT ANNOUNCEMENT
moreinfoUNIFIED announce their brand new initiative- The Unified Grant, comprising of five x $5000 grants. The grants are offered to driven young creatives who want to work in music but don’t play an instrument eg. photographers, producers, videographers, graphic designers. Applications are now open and will close on Monday 31 October 2016.

FINALISING ENTRIES FOR SHOWTIME TALENT QUEST

COUNTRY MUSIC BOOTCAMP IN BOYUP BROOK
moreinfoShooting for the Stars Bootcamp and Showcase is targeting WA all genres and styles of Country Music (rock, folk, bluegrass etc) and will work on raising skills and professionalism in groups and sessions for the more advanced. Successful applicants will be required to travel to Boyup Brook for the 4-6 November 2016 with opportunities to perform at the 2017 Boyup Brook Country Music Festival. ACMF’S NATIONAL SONGWRITING COMP

DCA GRANTS PROGRAM
moreinfoThe new DCA Grants Program has just been announced, with changes now allowing for individuals, groups and arts organisations to apply for different types of funding in five categories including Creative Development, Commercial Development, Community Engagement, Aboriginal Arts, and Scholarship and Fellowships. DCA encourages all applicants to ensure their applications are in alignment with all criteria and to read all applicant resources.

CITY OF JOONDALUP ARTS DEVELOPMENT SCHEME
