WAM’S AGM THIS WEDNESDAY!
You’re invited to help shape the future of WA music, at WAM’s Annual General Meeting. This Wednesday 24 May at 5:30pm the doors will open, with the meeting commencing sharply at 6pm, at the Rooftop Terrace Bar, Universal Bar, 211 William Street, Northbridge. It’s open to any interested music lovers, however you need to have been a financial WAM Member for at least one month prior to the AGM for your vote on AGM business and election of board members to be eligible.
OWN YOUR WORDS CAMPAIGN
Own Your Words is a campaign has been created by Colosoul Group Inc., in partnership with Grill’d Healthy Burgers to empower the voice of the youth. The competition involves young people aged 13-25 answering one of four questions in twenty-five words or less: What matters to you?, What is the most important thing you’ve learned?, What does the world need?, What is the best thing in life?
The top entry will receive a $50 Grill’d voucher, and nine other runner-ups will receive one free burger voucher each, entries close May 31.

The National Live Music Awards applications are open, offering a chance for artists, venues and events to connect with judges and put themselves forward for consideration for the 2017 awards. Artists will be able to connect NLMA’s Judges via a new form on the NLMA website, which encourages artists to provide live videos as well as information on upcoming shows that judges may be able to attend. Tura’s iMprov program aims to assist in the development of new and emerging improvisational artists. Once a month on a Monday, the iMprov series presents experimental and exploratory improvisation at bar Four5Nine at the Rosemount Hotel. The program also provides a monthly workshop for improvisers to work alongside local, national and international mentors who specialize in the field of improvised music performance.

WANMA PORTAL
The Western Australian New Music Archive is an interactive web portal presenting a collection of content related to the history of new music in Western Australia. You will find a range of material here including audio and video recordings, images, and a range of documents. The original collection has been drawn from the Tura and ABC Classic FM archives, but it is hoped that the collection will be added to through the participation of those involved in the new music scene in Western Australia. They’re also looking for WA releases to be added.
BUILDING BETTER REGIONS FUND – NOW OPEN
Building Better Regions Fund supports the Australian Government’s commitment to create jobs, drive economic growth and build stronger regional communities into the future. The program will run over four years from 2016-17 to 2019-20.
There are two streams of funding available under the program:
INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS STREAM– The minimum grant amount is $20,000 and the maximum grant amount is $10 million. You must complete your project by 31 December 2019.
COMMUNITY INVESTMENTS STREAM – The minimum grant amount is $5,000 and the maximum grant amount is $10 million, however given the nature of eligible projects we expect most grants will be under $100,000.
You must complete your project within 12 months of executing the grant agreement with the Commonwealth and by 31 December 2019.
CITY OF JOONDALUP $10,000 GRANT ROUNDS
The Arts Development Scheme closing dates for 2017. The aim of the scheme is to bring professional performing arts companies and artists into the City of Joondalup. Funding is available to professional performing arts organizations in Western Australia to develop an audience base in the northern metropolitan area of Perth. They are looking for exciting interdisciplinary projects to bring into Joondalup!
