There’s constantly a heap of sweet new tunes coming out of WA, and LaunchPad is here to fill you in on the latest single, video, EP and album launches from local acts of all genres over the next fortnight, and beyond…
► Punk rockers Last Quokka and garage pop band Boat Show are both releasing their singles at Mojo’s Bar Tuesday 14 February, supported by Rag N’ Bone, Regular Boys And Terrible Signal (Solo).
► Recently returning from Nashville, Telstra Road To Discovery winner Helen Shanahan is back to launch her single at Villanova Music Wednesday 15 February, with special guest Timothy Nelson.
► Perth based metalcore band Havoc have released a video for their new track, Improvidence out now through all digital retailers via Firestarter Distribution. Catch them at their next show, Friday 17 February, Amplifier Bar.
► Past WAM Song Of The Year nominated starlet Sydnee Carter will be hitting up Hyperfest on Saturday 18 February to launch her new single When We Were Young from her up and coming second EP Sticks and Stones, with a ridiculously large line-up surrounding!
► Six time WAMAward and WAM SOTY winner Morgan Bain announces his national tour off the back of launching a new EP, playing Mojo’s Bar Saturday 18 February, Clancys Dunsborough Sunday 26 February and Nannup Music Festival 3-6 March, all with huge line-ups to boot!
►Scottish-born musician, Perth-based rocker Hannah Smillie launches her 2nd EP at Four5Nine Bar Friday 24 February, and then Burlington Hotel in Bunbury Saturday 25, supported by EM Burrows & The Bearded Rainbow, Villanova & Matt Sevier.
► Unique blues/ rock/ pop fusion artist Jake Hoskins launches his new single and music video at Babushka in Leederville Saturday 25 February, supported by Spacey Jane, Simon Kelly and The Big Bamboo, The Plastic Attraction and Jodie Boni.
► Set to release their seventh studio album and also begin their Australian national tour celebrating 25 years, catch multi-WAMAwards and ARIA winners The Waifs at Perth Concert Hall Thursday 2 March.
► 2009 folk category WAMAward winner and 2015 double WAMAward nominees, The Disappointed celebrate the release of their third EP titled Disappear Friday 3 March at Jack Rabbit Slims, amongst friends Salary and Yaqui Yeti.
► Hitting Badlands Bar Friday 3 March for their single launch for new track Gurzle will be local rockers Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, supported by The Weapon Is Sound, Western Kinsmen Of The Sun and Demon Days.
► Coping Mechanisms is the latest album to be released by garage rock band FOAM, supported by Childsaint Shit Narnia, The Pissedcolas, Original Past Life and Skullcave Saturday 4 March at Badlands Bar.
► Multi WAMAward nominee and winner The Brow will be launching their latest single Echo Echo at both The Prince of Wales Thursday 9 March, and Amplifier Bar Friday 10 March, with local act Foreign Architects and more supporting their Perth show.
► Big Orange scored a spot on the 2016 Kiss My WAMi CD and now they are set to launch their latest single at Four5Nine bar Friday 10 March , supported by Wanderers, Simone & Girlfunkle and Luke Dux & Atomic Lunchbox.
► Multi WAMAward nominees Rag N’ Bone will be hitting the stage at Jack Rabbit Slims Saturday 18 March for their album launch, A Handful of Ash. Joining them on stage will be local rages Dream Rimmy, HUSSY and Last Quokka.
