WAM and Act-Belong-Commit are proud to launch a new series of free songwriting workshops for young musicians aged 10-13 in Margaret River.

The five-part workshop series will be facilitated by talented local songwriter and musician Mike Goodwin at Margaret River Primary School, with sessions held 10:30am – 12pm every Saturday from May 25th to June 22nd.

Each session will tackle the basics of songwriting while also introducing attendees to the important message of Act-Belong-Commit.

Meet the presenter: Mike Goodwin
Widely known as the musician of sensibility and strength, Mike Goodwin has been playing music in and around the Margaret River region for more than 12 years. Having worked and studied all around the world, he is really an international and experienced artist. Mike’s unique voice is frequently compared to a Tony Joe White/Nick Cave or Elvis sound. He delivers a moving performance with a clear vocal sound and rich tone.

Mike’s music covers and is influenced by an array of styles, from contemporary groove and funk to classic country. He is known for his ability to blend into just about any occasion, ranging from festivals, weddings, parties, functions and corporate events both in Perth and Margaret River.

Over the years, Mike has performed with a range of clients that include the Duckstein Brewery, Margaret River Hotel, Vasse Felix, The Goose Restaurant & function room, Colonial Brewery, Bootleg Brewery, The Augusta River Festival, Busselton Toyota and Tax Institute of Australia to name just a few.
