
Come and kick it with AGWA this weekend for Sneaker Saturday
Art Gallery of Western Australia (AGWA) is kicking off their The Rise of Sneaker Culture exhibition in fine style with an open house celebration THIS Saturday 13 May 10am – 4pm for FREE. It’s all part of their ongoing SNEAKERHEADS festivities, proudly supported by WAM.
Including music by local talents Empty with Strings, Diger Rokwell & Colab Band ft Sha Martin, Natalie Mae, Archi, Silvertongue & Empty, there will also be celeb drop-ins, WA collector Lee Ingram, AGWA Curator Robert Cook, wheelchair bball, life graffiti, Skateboarding WA Best Trick Jam Session & much more! And of course, it’s your first chance to view the international exhibition, The Rise of Sneaker Culture.

Sport: 3 on 3 Wheelchair Basketball Challenge Put your sneakers up and get your wheels on! Rebound WA, supported by Basketball WA, have challenged the Art Gallery of WA, the Department of Sport and Recreation and YOU to a game of 3 on 3 Wheelchair Basketball. AGWA Botanical Open Visit AGWA Botanical, a new pop-up garden oasis, a urban farm growing food in the urban jungle outside AGWA’s Garden Micro Gallery. The Green World Revolution Team will be opening the space for you to have a close look at the seasonal plantings of edible botanicals. |

Sport: Skateboarding Skateboarding WA Best Trick Jam Session will allow skateboarders to come and test their skills in the middle of Northbridge on the Skate Sculpture pop up skatepark. The skatepark obstacles are incredibly fun and are movable so as the session goes on new obstacles/combos can be put together. The session will be a fun jam format with some best trick competitions held through out the day. We will be giving out some prizes from NIKE SB, DICKIES , ALMOST skateboards, Modus Bearings, BUTTER GOODS, GMTA skateboards and WAYWARD wheels. The session iOS free to join in but under 18s do need a parent of guardian to sign their registration forms. Come down and let the good times roll! |
