Helen Townsend “Take It or Leave It” – Album Launch

Helen Townsend Announces New Album “Take It or Leave It” and WA Tour

Fremantle, WA – Fremantle’s own Americana sensation, Helen Townsend, is back with a powerful new album, “Take It or Leave It”, and she’s gearing up for an electrifying album launch at Freo Social on August 15th. Known for her unique blend of roots-rock, blues, country, and folk, Townsend’s sophomore album is already generating significant buzz.

“Take It or Leave It” is a compelling journey through themes of love, struggle, and resilience. Townsend seamlessly weaves personal stories with universal emotions, creating a resonant and rich musical tapestry. The album features a mix of upbeat honky-tonk tunes and reflective ballads, showcasing Townsend’s songwriting prowess and her ability to connect with listeners on a deeply emotional level.

The album includes the WAM Awards Song of the Year nominee “Is This Love” and the Cinefest Film Festival’s Best Black & White Clip winner, “Battlefield”. Alongside these acclaimed tracks, Townsend’s recent singles “Melbourne Streets” and “Baby Come Home” have also found a place on the record, each song contributing to the album’s narrative of hope, strength, and enduring spirit.

“Demons,” the fifth single from the highly anticipated 11-track record, highlights yet another facet of Townsend’s songwriting ability. The hauntingly powerful alt-country track is about battling addiction, characterized by a moody, introspective vibe and a dynamic shift from tension to resolution. Townsend shares, “Demons is a plea to someone very close to me, as I watched him struggle and create chaos in his world. This song expresses my desperate desire to rescue him and keep him safe from his inner demons.”

The WA album launch event at Freo Social promises to be an unforgettable evening of music and emotion. Supported by the Dave Johnson Band and the Helen Shanahan Band, Townsend and her band, The Wayward Hearts, are set to deliver a performance filled with rich four-part harmonies and captivating melodies. This launch is part of Townsend’s national tour, which includes dates in NSW, Victoria, and other parts of WA.

Tickets for the Freo Social launch are available now, and with the buzz surrounding the album, they’re expected to sell fast. This is a celebration of Helen Townsend’s journey and the stories that have shaped her music.
