WAM ‘Grassroots Workshops’ at the 2015 Nannup Music Festival

As part of our ongoing commitment to skills and audience development, and expanding regional programming, WAM will be conducting two FREE workshops this weekend as part of the Nannup Music Festival. Whilst tickets to this incredible festival are on sale now (more details on line-up etc here), these workshops on this Saturday 28 February will be free for anyone to attend, and happen at the free Village Green Stage.


WORKSHOP 1: Getting that tour on the road (9-9.45am)

Hear anecdotes and practical advice on touring around WA and beyond. Get helpful tips on sourcing funding and avoiding pitfalls along the way. Panelists include:

Moderated by Nigel Bird (WAM Regional Officer)

WORKSHOP 2: Being a self-managed artist (11-11.40am)

Advice, reflections and your questions answered by this panel of experienced self-managed artists on the pros and cons of taking on this role yourself. Why would you be self managed, how to best maximise opportunities and advice on how to achieve success whilst avoiding burnout. Panelists include:

Gary Dobbin (Tank 7even plus many more acts)

Natasha Shanks (solo and The Little Lord Street Band)

Leah Gandossini (aka Leah Miche The Regular)

Moderated by  Mike Harris (WAM’s CEO)
