A lot happens in two weeks in the local music world, but luckily WAM is here to remind you of a few highlights for WA artists doing mint things;

Latest WAM Song Of The Year grand prize winner Beni Bjah has had a new song added to the triple j Unearthed playlist with his hip-hop tune Survivor, for rotation on their digital radio station. More info here. has recently spoken to Beni Bjah about his WAM Song Of The Year win, finding out the meaning behind his winning song Survivor and how he hopes to help indigenous youth through music. On triple j Unearthed, local beatsmith Ta-ku has compiled a playlist of his top 5 favourite Unearthed tunes at the moment, also including Perth electronic producer Zeke Beats. More info here.

Shoegaze outfit Hyla have released their latest single Chaos For You, Happy recently describing it as a mellow entrancing slice of shoegaze heaven. Birds of Tokyo have taken out first place in the rock category of the International Songwriting Competition, for their song Anchor. More info here.
