WAMEDIA WATCH: News from Tired Lion, Luke Steele, Tame Impala, PUCK & more

A lot happens in two weeks in the local music world, but luckily WAM is here to remind you of a few highlights for the local scene achieving mint things;

WA’s world conquering psych lords Tame Impala have been doing just that of late, debuting on the US Billboard charts at #2 on Top Rock Albums, #1 on the Alternative Albums and #4 on the Billboard 200, these also coming after their first ever #1 on Australia’s ARIA chart. More info here.

Happppy featured a list of ‘femme fatales’ killing it in Aus music at the mo’, including Splendour triple j Unearthed winners Tired Lion, who indeed went on to kill their set in Byron! More info here.

Canadian Music Week happened recently and the Au Review were over there to record the action, including a video interview with WA’s Japanese Tongue Sisters. View here.

WA Music Awards Best Metal/Heavy winners PUCK saw their new track premiered by Life Is Noise, with headphones and volume both encouraged. Listen here.

Multi-WA Music Award winning act KUCKA was over at Splendour on the weekend and ended up taking over the mic for The Guardian to become the interviewer and chat to Japanese Wallpaper. View here.
