WAM FESTIVAL: Save the dates and apply to showcase!

31 Jul

More than 10,000 music-lovers threw their hands up for WA music last year at the many events that made up the WAM Festival, including the introduction of a packed-out Block Party and a freshly formatted Saturday Spectacular that had record-breaking crowds lining up to get into venues early in the day. So mark the dates in; we’re now pleased to announce this year’s WAM Festival will extend to an epic four days of incredible WA-stocked experiences, taking place Thursday 5 – Sunday 8 November!

After impressing with his debut programming last year, Greg Sanders has been appointed 2015’s WAM Festival Coordinator, with the mission of evolving the festival to achieve even more exciting celebrations of WA music. He’s currently on the search for a mix of diverse talent to showcase at the festival’s many events – including free public events to industry-focused and ticketed ones – as well as songs to be included on the Kiss My WAMi compilation, pushing the best WA music from the last year. To be considered for these opportunities, acts can apply here:

Greg commented, “WA has proven time and time again it’s capable of producing world class talent, and the WAM Festival provides a key platform to showcase the latest and greatest to booking agents, music programmers for radio stations, labels, media and other industry travelling here to discover the next ‘it’ acts from WA. So whatever genre or style of music you make, be sure to get your submissions in for your chance to take advantage of the opportunities.”

As part of the festival, the WA Music Conference will again better service the needs of the music industry – inspiring established and upcoming alike. WAM’s Claire Hodgson will be coordinating a vital program of panels, networking sessions and one-on-one opportunities, giving acts, managers, promoters and more the tools, knowledge and platforms to get their music game to the next level. This will be taking place on Friday 6 – Saturday 7 November, with special earlybird prices announced soon.

Claire commented, “Offering a series of highly informative panels sessions over two days from some of the music industry’s best and brightest, WA Music Conference passes also provide access to one-on-one meetings with conference speakers, the opportunity to pitch your music directly to radio and entry to all WAM Festival events, meaning not only can you gain great feedback about your music or business and make vital connections during the conference, but the networking activities can continue at WAM events across the festival!”

Reaching a wide range of engaged and active music audiences and consumers, the WAM Festival offers a multitude of rewarding opportunities for businesses – from branded presenting rights to WA Music Awards sponsorship and creative site activations.
