Sweet Mate Music present sounds at The Bassendean

22 Oct

Sweet Mate Music is excited to present a season of original shows happening at one of Perth’s most iconic and visible eastern suburbs pubs, with the return to of live music to The Bassendean Hotel.

The Basso is a beautiful old drinking establishment that’s recently been the beneficiary of bit of a makeover, whilst still retaining it’s ye olde charm. It’s right on the Freo-Midland train line (you can see it from the train as you pull into Bassendean station – it’s THAT close!) and has a murder of parking for those wishing to control their own destinies. The 200 cap band room recalls some of Melbourne’s live venues and even has evoked some memories of the late, beloved Hydey to some who’ve seen it.

The Basso’s original nights will kick off on October 30, running every Friday until Christmas. The opening night of the season features beat-pop tunesmiths The High Learys and indie heroes Stillwater Giants – both with great new singles out now – joining forces with stellar support from Basso locals The Community Chest along with Flooded Palace and Little Lord Street Band. Doors open 7.30pm and the action starts right away, so don’t dawdle. Entry is $10 at the door.

The following week sees a WAM Festival Friday Showcase featuring Trigger Jackets, Shimmergloom, The Witches, Oakland and Gold Suns – full November/December program coming soon!
