RTRFM Radiothon Party

Subscribe to RTRFM during Radiothon!

14 Aug

Why do we love RTRFM? It should be obvious; because they do such an amazing job of supporting local artists! WAM’s strong affections for RTRFM go many years back, and we sincerely believe that it should be a no-brainer for any self-respecting local musician in WA to subscribe during their Radiothon period, beginning tomorrow. Benefits and potential prizes for band subscriptions are pretty damn impressive, but what we think is much more important is that it enables the not-for-profit station to keep on broadcasting, which means they can keep on playing you and other local artists!

RTRFM 92.1ʼs annual fundraising event kicks off with Breakfast with Barr at 6am on Friday 15 August, and closes with Sunday Morning Coming Down at 12pm on Sunday 24 August. As an entirely self-funded radio station, the 10-day Radiothon pledge drive and Radiothon Party are RTRFMʼs main source of income for the year, making up approximately one third of the stationʼs annual operating costs.

RTRFM plays a key role in the community as a trusted independent voice, giving coverage to important current affairs and social issues. The station also provides local artists, performers, journalists and broadcasters with a platform to share their talents and tell their stories.

During the Radiothon period, RTRFM programs will feature special guests, live performances, interviews, and lots of laughs! By taking out a subscription or donating to RTRFM, youʼll not only feel good about giving back to the community, but also youʼll go in the draw to win some great prizes – including an overseas holiday.

This yearʼs major prizes include a 10-day Gecko Adventures trip for two to Borneo courtesy of Peregrine Travel Centre; a MacBook Air thanks to matesrates, along with a set of AKG Headphones thanks to Headphonic; and the Feature 250 – the entire RTRFM feature album catalogue from the past year. Thereʼll also be further prizes announced every day!

You can also make a one-off, tax-deductible donation to RTRFM. This yearʼs donor prize will secure your popularity for the next 12 months – itʼs a yearʼs supply of traditional wood-fired pizza thanks to Ace Pizza in Mount Lawley.

RTRFMʼs dedicated volunteers will be based in the RTRFM phone room, taking Radiothon subscriptions and donations around the clock. So no matter when you call – weʼll be there to answer.
