Em Burrows

Audience Development Officer

Holding a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in English from The University of Western Australia and a Graduate Diploma in Education from ECU, Em is a highly skilled teacher (classroom and specialist music) with over 10 years experience. Em has also established her own rock school for young musicians, which she successfully ran for 8 years before selling the thriving business in 2016.

Em has been an active participant in the Perth music community for over 10 years as a music teacher, songwriter/producer, broadcaster (RTRFM), record label manager (Group Therapy Records), and speaker. She currently makes music under her own name and as Web Rumors.

As WAM’s Audience Development Officer and the coordinator of Girls Rock! WA, Em channels her energy and experience into developing programs and opportunities for emerging artists and audiences across WA. She is also the host of WAM’s podcast, Wide Open Road.
