Georgia Kennedy

Strategic Relationships and Development Manager

Georgia is a fundraising and development professional with a long and varied career across a number of sectors. Starting in transport and progressing into the arts (such a natural progression!), Georgia then found herself in the not-for-profit sector. Whilst clocking up more than 16 years in this sector, she has worked on major events and fundraising initiatives such as the Freeway Bike Hike for Asthma, and the World’s Greatest Shave, which she oversaw for three years. It was whilst working at ScreenWest that Georgia discovered an affinity for working with dynamic, passionate and creative people.

Georgia’s big love is music. She is passionate about the local scene and has been a gig-goer all her life. Her love of live, local music started with Perth’s punk scene in the very early ’80s and, whilst moving through many different genres over the years, her love of live gigs has never waned. On top of being a prolific gig-goer, Georgia also manages a couple of local acts, and lends her assistance in areas such as publicity, radio servicing, planning and general advice to a number of others.

Then one day the stars aligned and Georgia found herself in the role of Strategic Relationships and Development Manager at WAM, which is probably as close as you can get to waving a magic wand and finding yourself in your dream job. She is an essential member of the WAM team; connecting WAM with much-needed funding opportunities for its programs and activities and developing lasting relationships with like-minded organisations.
