With the recent concern about venues closing down in Perth, the city is now preparing to also say farewell to another two; Shape Bar and Luxe Bar.

Shape Bar will soon be “Taking a step back from humanity and plunging into the darkness that exists after the afterafterparty – the infinite void that is the closure of the club”. Rather than dwelling on the end, the club plans to embrace the good times with their Last Chance to Dance with Julio Bashmore¬†on Sunday 26 April. In addition to there being rivers of emotion and partying happening across two levels until 2am, Shape will also be serving up significantly delicious food in the courtyard to really complete the ecosystem, celebrating a piece of magic going supernova before it disappears forever.” More info here.

Luxe Bar continues says goodbye with their Love Sundays Party seeing the venue come to a close on Sunday 3 May. Owner Michelle Mok commented, “The rumours are true. Luxe Bar is closing after 13.5 years on Sunday 3rd of May. As most of you know this has been a very beloved project for Geoff Hayward, Andy Freeman & I and has been a really special place for a lot of people – YOU! Please come down to have last drinks at Luxe Bar over the next 3 weekends with us. There are so many people to thank from over the many years and so many friendships forged, loves incarnated, offspring sprung! If these walls could talk. Well we will let them. Stay tuned to hear about the LUXE CONFESSIONS project. And thanks for the memories.”

WAM has approached the venues about the closures to find out more. These closures add to a recent list including the imminent final curtain call for The Bakery, so show your support for the live music scene and fill out the Perth Venue Action Survey NOW!
