Author

Veteran broadcaster and producer Peter Barr will step away from the microphone this December after ten years in the early morning seat at RTRFM, after initially beginning at the station as a volunteer back in 1994. Barr has solo presented the highly popular Breakfast with Barr program since 2004, following two years of co-presenting Breakfast with Genge and Barr with Mark Genge (2001-2002). He has also produced mid-morning talks program Morning Magazine since 2008.

The announcement was made following his first Media Award win at the WA Music Awards. A much-loved character both on and off-air, Barr has long championed Western Australian music. He has won the prestigious Golden WAMi Award three times, and has received several WAM nominations over the years for his ongoing contribution to the WA music industry.

Barr will continue on at RTRFM in a part-time capacity as Talks Producer, with a new breakfast presenter to be announced in the coming weeks. Barr’s final week on Breakfast with Barr will commence on Monday 14 December and will feature a variety of special guests and performances all week to commemorate the occasion. The final Breakfast with Barr will take place on Friday 19 December.
