RTRFM, long time supporters of local acts in Western Australia, have just announced that Will Backler (aka Will Bixler in his DJ form) will join RTRFM staff as the station’s new Music Coordinator.

Will first appeared on the airwaves as a guest in 2012 before joining the Bass Check collective in late 2013. Then in May 2014, Will took over Full Frequency on Thursdays with Jo Lettenmaier. Following Jo’s departure in April, Will has hosted the show solo, which he will continue to do going forward.

Will’s appointment sees him take over from outgoing Music Director Adam Christou, who’ll be departing later this month to take up the position of Interviews Coordinator at Triple R in Melbourne. Adam served as RTRFM’s Music Director for more than two and a half years and the station is enormously thankful for his dedication towards the RTRFM music direction.

In addition to Will Backler’s appointment, RTRFM’s Breakfast Presenter & Producer Caitlin Nienaber will now be adding the title of Music Interviews Coordinator to her role, managing all interviews for the station’s music programs.

Meanwhile, Talks Producer Peter Barr will also be adding Program Manager to his title, overseeing the administrative handling of the station’s 200+ presenters across the grid.

Will begins his role as Music Coordinator this week and can be reached at [email protected]
