Rock Scholars summer rock festivals

28 Nov

The summer music festival season is swiftly approaching and Perth rock school Rock Scholars is making sure that the kids don’t miss out on the fun.

Rock Scholars is hosting Scholarpalooza; its first all ages mini-festival at The Garage on Saturday December 13. The day-long event is being headlined by local low-fi garage rockers and Big Splash Competition 2013 finalists Apache and will feature over 15 up and coming local bands including Sly Withers, Turtle Island and Royal Haze. With bands, food, activities, and DJs, the alcohol free show gives under 18’s the chance to get in on the live music scene and embrace the festival spirit.

December also sees Rock Scholars host its fourth annual Festivus at the Fly By Night Musicians Club. This will be one of the last ever shows hosted at the iconic drill hall.

Festivus is headlined by lush-pop six piece Timothy Nelson and the Infidels and features a stellar lineup of young bands including indie-pop darlings Figurehead, psych-pop crowd pleasers Cloning the Mammoth and grunge-rockers Uncle Jeffrey.
