Columbia Press, publishers of X-Press Magazine and X-Press Digital Media, iconic Australian brands in the field of entertainment and culture, is seeking expressions of interest from an interested party to purchase or licence the digital media business.
X-Press have been instrumental to the success of WAM’s projects over decades, including being strong presenting partners in helping the evolution of WAMFest over the last few years.

“X-Press was born in 1985, and has been the bible for entertainment in Perth ever since. As Perth has grown and become a diverse, cultural centre, X-Press, over 32-years and with the contribution of hundreds of local writers, has followed the change, documenting the city’s evolution and shining a light on the creatives and dreamers who changed our city forever. Who will see it through the next 30-years?
Tireless and passionate publisher Joe Cipriani has been there from the start, but now has his heart set on family, property, fishing and some involvement at an arm’s reach with entertainment publishing in Perth.
“Yes, it’s time,” Cipriani says. “Ideally as part of the transaction and as a sign of my ongoing confidence in the brand, I would like to negotiate shares for myself but only if that opportunity arises and it’s a deal everyone is happy with.”
X-Press is a well-placed product in the digital space with exciting times ahead and is poised for the new guard to take on the next phase at a minimal entry cost. X-Press re-emerged in January with a fresh and new production office at Fitzgerald Street North Perth, with new
Editor Harvey Rae, Content Editor Anthony Jackson and Strategy Manager Brayden Edwards heading the weekly publishing. Many existing relationships exist with the likes of Perth Festival, WAM, RTRFM, Fringe World and various promoters, industry and government agencies around Perth and beyond.
In 2017, X-Press is already expanding and strengthening its online digital platforms (website, regular EDM newsletters, mobile connectivity, app and social media), offering flexible and innovative content and advertising options.
