OPPORTUNITIES TO PLAY: Big Splash, Concert for Polly, ANZAC raps, West End

12 Mar

WA’s biggest live band competition, The Big Splash Band Comp is gearing up for its 3rd year! Run across various venues in 2015 between June and August, we are calling out to all West Australian unsigned bands. Entries are now open til midnight Thursday 30 April 2015. You could have the chance at winning a cool $10,000 cash, just like WA Music Awards nominated/winning acts Scalphunter and Hideous Sun Demon. More info here.

A combination of remarkable circumstances and heroic actions by many led to the incredible and inspirational story of a young man’s will to live and his journey of recovery after being attacked by two Great White Sharks and the horrific injuries he sustained. Friends are organising Concert for Polly, an event to be held on Saturday 28 March 2015 at Hands Oval Bunbury from 4pm to 11pm, and are looking for 4 to 5 bands/acts. Due to the not for profit nature of the event, they’re hoping the acts may consider waving their regular booking cost and fees and perform at no cost. For more info please contact [email protected] or call Danny on 0497 224 752.

What does the ANZAC spirit mean to you? Can you rap? Why not participate in the ANZAC Day Rapper Tag? Just perform 16 bars about what the ANZAC spirit means to you. To be held on Sunday 26 April in the Northbridge Cultural Center Wetland Stage near the Art Gallery. If interested in this opportunity please RSVP by 6am on Monday 23 March. All submissions which have been proofread will be posted on this dedicated SoundCloud playlist:
If you can’t attend, you may still participate by sending your sweet 16 to Krispe and it will be included in the SoundCloud playlist.
