AMP’S TOMORROW FUND IS OFFERING $1 MILLION IN GRANTS
AMP’s Tomorrow Fund is offering $1 million in grants to amazing Australians doing great things – including musicians, puppeteers, playwrights, designers and arts champions. Grants of between $10,000 to $100,000 can cover a range of activities, including training, travel and equipment costs, living expenses, rent and research. Applications open Monday 3 April 2017 and close at 4pm (AEST) on Tuesday 16 May 2017.

A game changing opportunity for songwriters & composers, APRA AMCOS has announced the return of the biennial APRA Professional Development Awards, a career boosting initiative which has helped further the musical success stories of many locals. AMIN (Australian Music Industry Network) has announced the prizes for the LOVE LIVE MUSIC 60-Second Film Competition. The competition is a national initiative to focus on the importance of Australian contemporary live music, and is calling for filmmakers and musicians to collaborate on a 60-second film. COMMUNITY RADIO & TV IS YOU COMP
The Community Broadcasting Foundation aka CBF have opened their Community Radio & TV is YOU – Photo Competition 2017. Win up to $1,000 CASH! MAKE PLACE- MONTHLY GIGS
Based in Mandurah, Make Place will be available one Thursday night per month for music artists to play a gig. Tickets will be $10 at the door with all proceeds going to whoever is playing. All events will be BYO. Thursday 2nd March will feature a Songwriter’s Session by Jasmine Atkins and Nate Lansdell supported by Navana. More on that will be out on social media shortly. GENDER IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY SURVEY
A survey is being conducted by an honors student in Adelaide. and are conducting research into how people working in the music industry in Australia experience and perceive the effect of gender. Participants must be 18 and over, live in Australia and have worked, or been working in the music industry for 5 years or more. The survey is available here. The Western Australian New Music Archive is an interactive web portal presenting a collection of content related to the history of new music in Western Australia. You will find a range of material here including audio and video recordings, images, and a range of documents. The original collection has been drawn from the Tura and ABC Classic FM archives, but it is hoped that the collection will be added to through the participation of those involved in the new music scene in Western Australia. They’re also looking for WA releases to be added.
BUILDING BETTER REGIONS FUND - NOW OPEN
Building Better Regions Fund supports the Australian Government’s commitment to create jobs, drive economic growth and build stronger regional communities into the future. The program will run over four years from 2016-17 to 2019-20.
There are two streams of funding available under the program:
INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS STREAM- The minimum grant amount is $20,000 and the maximum grant amount is $10 million. You must complete your project by 31 December 2019.
COMMUNITY INVESTMENTS STREAM – The minimum grant amount is $5,000 and the maximum grant amount is $10 million, however given the nature of eligible projects we expect most grants will be under $100,000.
You must complete your project within 12 months of executing the grant agreement with the Commonwealth and by 31 December 2019.
CITY OF JOONDALUP $10,000 GRANT ROUNDS
The Arts Development Scheme closing dates for 2017. The aim of the scheme is to bring professional performing arts companies and artists into the City of Joondalup. Funding is available to professional performing arts organizations in Western Australia to develop an audience base in the northern metropolitan area of Perth. They are looking for exciting interdisciplinary projects to bring into Joondalup!

ROYALTIES FOR REGIONS CREATIVE REGIONS FUNDING
Managed by the Department of Culture and the Arts, the Artists In The House is a residencies fund for Local Government Authorities (LGAs) or not-for-profit organisations that own or operate eligible performing arts venues and entertainment centres in regional WA. Funding will support the costs of professional WA performing artists to be in residence at a venue, and collaborate with local communities and arts organisations. Artists in the House opens in February 2017.

The new DCA Grants Program has been changed, now allowing for individuals, groups and arts organisations to apply for different types of funding in five categories including Creative Development, Commercial Development, Community Engagement, Aboriginal Arts, and Scholarship and Fellowships. DCA encourages all applicants to ensure their applications are in alignment with all criteria and to read all applicant resources.

Rev is calling out to WA musicians to come forward with music meets film ideas for possible presentation at the July 2017 event – which is incidentally celebrating its 20th anniversary. Rev has a long history in presenting high-quality music/film concepts from Goblin Plays Suspiria, to Siouxsie and the Banshees’ Steven Severin to Phillip Johnston playing Melies to Viola Dana playing Buster Keaton to Sonic Youth’s Lee Renaldo’s own brand of performance.
