More music related jobs, funding deadlines and competitions for acts and music industry peeps to get ahead, including new deadlines for Department of Culture and the Arts’ Creative Industries grants, Australia Council touring grants, Noodle Palace applications opening, EMC discounts and more!

 

FUNDING FOR WA CONTEMPORARY MUSIC PROJECTS
The next closing round for Creative Industries Grants, including contemporary music, through the Department of Culture and the Arts is Thursday 8 October for activity commencing after 1st February 2016.  Categories include: Commercial Development, Skills Development and Sector Development. Please be aware you must have resided in WA for the past 12 months and have NO overdue acquittals with DCA to be eligible. More info here.

OZCO GRANTS CLOSING
September 1 sees the next big round of Australia Council for the Arts grants closing, including the Contemporary Music Touring Program. This program supports national touring activity undertaken by Australian musicians performing original contemporary music. It provides travel support for artists and their manager for tours in Australia that include performances in regional and remote areas.  More info here.

NOODLE PALACE LOOKING FOR SHOWS
Run by JumpClimb, previous standout Noodle Palace are currently in the process of programming event for 2016 as part of Fringe World, and also taking bookings for extra dates for live/DJ shows on the rooftop. Dates are 22 January – 21 February 2016. The capacity will be around 1250 on the rooftop and late license.  Also we will have 5 theatre spaces ranging from 50 pax to 200 pax. ELECTRONIC MUSIC CONFERENCE DISCOUNTS
Each year EMC attracts hundreds of speakers, artists, delegates and aspiring DJs and producers to Sydney for two days of panels, talks, networking, masterclasses, showcases, parties and more. The conference attracts some of the world’s leading figures from electronic music, and they’re offering WAM Members significantly discounted tickets to get the most out of it.

DCA ROUND FOR YOUNG PEOPLE
The DCA’s next funding round for applications to the Young People & The Arts funding program is now open!  Applications close 4pm Thursday 17 September 2015 for activity commencing on or after 1 January 2016.  Categories include: Development; Distribution and Marketing; Fellowship.

Are you a Western Australian Band, Duo or solo act? Then Hyperfest could be looking for you – band applications for 2016 are now open! To be eligible, at least 50% of the band/duo must be under the age of 30. Applications close Friday 30 October.

CALLING ALL AGES BANDS
For the past few months Cool Perth Nights have been putting on shows at HQ to help younger bands get a leg up without taking on the financial risk involved in hosting a U18 show and to help nurture the local music scene, and they’re now on the look out for bands that contain at least one underaged member.

Musica Viva in Schools
is thrilled to announce its 2016 school music program, celebrating 35 years of independent provider of music education.
