HIGHER NOTE – APPLICATIONS OPEN
WAM is excited to announce this year’s Higher Note Workshop, providing WA-based artists with the opportunity to learn from some of the best in the industry. This time aimed at musicians in the earlier stages of their careers, this year’s Higher Note is a bespoke workshop program open to all WA-based musicians who want to take their careers to the next level. Applications are open til 5pm Monday 30 May.

THE BIG SPLASH APPLICATIONS EXTENDED
Applications for The Big Splash Comp have been extended and now close Friday 27 May at midnight. This will be the fourth year of The Big Splash Comp and $10,000 is up for grabs for the winning band – courtesy of Perth’s number one rock and roll philanthropist, Maria Floride.

MATSO’S RAW LIVE & UNPLUGGED
As part of WA Day Festival 2016, MATSO’s Raw Live & Unplugged is on the search for WA’s finest live, unsigned and unplugged acoustic musos. All finalists will snag themselves the opportunity to perform live on the Main Stage at WA Day Festival, which happens earlier in the same day as the FREE State Of The Art Music Festival. Want to get paid for playing live? If you are musician/songwriter who performs original music live than submit through your performance report to APRA AMCOS. APRA-AMCOS performance reports are due 31 July.

RAC COMMUNITY SPONSOR SHIPS
The RAC’s Community Sponsorship Project has opened for second round applications, with the opportunity to apply for (up to) $20,000. Applications for the Community Sponsorship Project close 27 June. Alongside this program, the RAC offers sponsorship through Community Chest (up to $500) and Grass Roots (up to $5k).

Unsigned Only 2016 – Triple Play have re -opened applications for a short period of time. If you missed the original deadline or would like to enter more songs then apply by June 1.  All entrants will receive 100 free spins per entry to Radio Airplay- just for entering!

BANFF INDIGENOUS MUSIC RESIDENCY
Applications are now open for the Banff Indigenous Music Residency, Re(Claim) 2016. An innovative experimental music program, the Re(Claim) Residency offers a space in which Indigenous artists ‘reclaim’ the era of silent films with music made about Indigenous peoples globally.

In 2016, the Fremantle Festival continues to provide funding for community organisations and artists wishing to present projects at any time of the year in Fremantle through their Community Development funding program.

SEARCH IS ON FOR THE 2016 BUSH BANDS
The biggest celebration of Indigenous music in Central Australia is calling for applications to perform in front of thousands at the 14th annual Bush Bands Bash concert and gain invaluable skills and mentoring at the three-day Bush Bands Business skills development camp in Alice Springs in August.

The Pirate88 2016 Track of the Year song contest is open! There are five categories to choose from, including Fremantle, Western Australia, Youth-Global, Australia, and the World.. Applications close 31 October.

DCA GRANTS PROGRAM
The new DCA Grants Program has just been announced, with changes now allowing for individuals, groups and arts organisations to apply for different types of funding in five categories including Creative Development, Commercial Development, Community Engagement, Aboriginal Arts, and Scholarship and Fellowships. DCA encourages all applicants to ensure their applications are in alignment with all criteria and to read all applicant resources.
