SWAN RIVER RUN ‘BATTLE OF THE BANDS’ TALENT SEARCH
Enter your band for the chance to win a day of recording and mixing with Perth’s renowned Soundbaker Studios. To enter, submit a video or link to a track, bio, photo and social link to music@mustardmusic.com.au. The finalists will perform on Sunday 24 July. Entries close Wednesday 20 June.

NORTH FREMANTLE BOWLING CLUB’S OPEN MIC NIGHT
The North Fremantle Bowling Club is launching a weekly open mic night on Sundays from 4pm-6pm this Sunday 12 June. Open to the public, it is a great opportunity to perform in a relaxed environment. If getting on stage isn’t your thing, you can go down and have a game of lawn bowls or settle in for a pint and take advantage of the free BBQ area.

If you’re a North West unsigned aspiring singer/songwriter, solo artist or band  – there’s still one more spot on the North West Festival line-up and it could be yours! WANT TO WORK AT NORTH-WEST FESTIVAL?
North-West Festival are also looking for people to fill various roles locally in the following positions: wrist banders, ticket scanners, campsite assistants, VIP volunteers, parking and gate marshals and general festival staff. These roles are available from Thursday to Sunday, and are a combination of both paid and volunteer roles, for more info email work@sunsetevents.com.au.

NIMAS COMPETITION
NIDA is on the hunt for Australia’s best independent Indigenous artist to play the National Indigenous Music Awards (NIMAS) this August. The winner will get flights and accommodation to Darwin and have the chance to perform their original music at the awards ceremony. To be in the running, upload your songs to triple j Unearthed by Sunday 3 July. Also make sure you’ve selected Indigenous in your artist profile.

MUNDIJONG BUSKERS MARKET
The Serpentine Jarrahdale Community Resource Centre in Mundijong is hosting a Buskers Market on Saturday 25 June from 12pm-5pm. They are currently searching for artists interested in performing on the day. There is no buskers fee and any money made on the day is yours to keep. Expression of interests are open for country musicians to play the Boyup Brook Country Music Festival 2017. Applications for the 2017 West Australian Country Music Awards are also open.

RAC COMMUNITY SPONSORSHIPS
The RAC’s Community Sponsorship Project has opened for second round applications, with the opportunity to apply for (up to) $20,000. Applications for the Community Sponsorship Project close 27 June. Alongside this program, the RAC offers sponsorship through Community Chest (up to $500) and Grass Roots (up to $5k).

FAST TRACK TALENT SHOWCASE
Applications are still open for Fast Track Talent Showcase – Kalgoorlie-Boulder.  First prize to be awarded $1,500. All talents and ages of music acts (and beyond) from the Kalgoorlie region and surrounds to apply.

BANFF INDIGENOUS MUSIC RESIDENCY
Applications are now open for the Banff Indigenous Music Residency, Re(Claim) 2016. An innovative experimental music program, the Re(Claim) Residency offers a space in which Indigenous artists ‘reclaim’ the era of silent films with music made about Indigenous peoples globally.

SEARCH IS ON FOR THE 2016 BUSH BANDS
The biggest celebration of Indigenous music in Central Australia is calling for applications to perform in front of thousands at the 14th annual Bush Bands Bash concert and gain invaluable skills and mentoring at the three-day Bush Bands Business skills development camp in Alice Springs in August.

PIRATE88 TRACK OF THE YEAR
The Pirate88 2016 Track of the Year song contest is open! There are five categories to choose from, including Fremantle, Western Australia, Youth-Global, Australia, and the World. Applications close 31 October.

DCA GRANTS PROGRAM
The new DCA Grants Program has just been announced, with changes now allowing for individuals, groups and arts organisations to apply for different types of funding in five categories including Creative Development, Commercial Development, Community Engagement, Aboriginal Arts, and Scholarship and Fellowships. DCA encourages all applicants to ensure their applications are in alignment with all criteria and to read all applicant resources.
