DEADLINE EXTENDED: APRA AMCOS PERFORMANCE REPORTS
APRA AMCOS
members the deadline to submit your Live Performance Reports has been extended to Sunday 7 August. If you are a songwriter or have had your original songs performed in pubs, clubs and other public places over the last twelve months, head over to APRA AMCOS’ website to ensure you receive your performance royalties. The Music Matters Live Festival returns to Singapore as part of the All That Matters Festival for 2016. A mix between WAM Festival and BIGSOUND, and beyond, Music Matters is Asia’s largest music conference and showcase. PERFORMER APPLICATIONS OPEN FOR FAIRBRIDGE FESTIVAL 2017
Fairbridge Festival is back in 2017, from 21-24 April. Applications are now open for musicians, as well as artists who can deliver interesting workshops/presentations. Applications close 16 September 2016. More info here.

2016 WRITE A BLUEGRASS SONG COMP
Manjimup Bluegrass Music Weekend are inviting artists to write a song about Western Australia for a chance at $400. It will be happening from 30 September- 2 October. Applications are open now and close 4 September. More info and comp guidelines here.

DEADLINE EXTENDED: VANDA & YOUNG
The deadline for the 2016 Vanda & Young Songwriting Competition, the world’s largest charity song contest, has once again been extended. This year’s prize winners will share in A$65k and join the eminent company of past winners Kimbra, Gotye and The Preatures. With proceeds going to Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy Australia, your entry will also help to make someone elses life. The deadline for the Vanda & Young songwriting competition has been extended until Wednesday 10 August and is an opportunity not to be missed! Enter here.

JOB OPENING:  FULL TIME PROJECT MANAGER APRA AMCOS
The APRA AMCOS Sydney office is on the lookout for a suitably qualified Project Manager, to lead their RECOGNISE Campaign. Recognise is the people’s movement to recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in the Australian Constitution and ensure there’s no place in it for racial discrimination. CATALYST COMMUNITY ARTS FUND CLOSING SOON
Catalyst closes 30 September 2016 for projects starting from 1 January 2017. CAN will host two FREE events to assist applicants seeking funding for their community arts project, or community artists seeking research and development grants. Catalyst funding has contributed to WAM’s regional programs and is a great place to start for community artists. More info here.

PICA 2017 ARTISTIC PROPOSAL CALLOUT
Each year PICA aims to present a series of contemporary arts projects that create career-defining moments for artists, life changing experiences for audiences of all ages and critical turning points in the advancement of art forms. For its 2017 program PICA is calling for proposals from artists for its remodelled performance program during Fringe World Festival, and studio residency program. Perth’s FRINGE WORLD is an exciting platform where up-and-coming artists can perform to audiences alongside artists and performers who are well-known and experienced at Fringe festivals in Australia and internationally – and this includes music! 2017 registrations are now open for events and venues. DEPARTMENT OF CULTURE AND THE ARTS GRANT ANNOUNCEMENT
The Department of Culture and the Arts has announced opening and closing dates for grant applications. Included, the The Aboriginal Arts Grants Program, opening 8 August, provides project funding to support the long-term growth and sustainability of Aboriginal arts and culture in WA. More info here.

APRA AMCOS AirIt FOR INDIGENOUS ARTISTS
APRA AMCOS has teamed up with Amrap’s AirIt to help Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) artists get their music to community radio broadcasters across Australia. Through the partnership, APRA AMCOS ATSI members with radio-ready music can fast-track their access to AirIt, a free music distribution service that allows DJs from radio stations around the country to find and access songs to play on their shows. AUSTRALIA COUNCIL’S INTERNATIONAL RESIDENCIES PROGRAM
International residencies provide unique opportunities for artists across all artforms to immerse themselves in new arts communities, broaden their knowledge and contribute to the presence of Australian artists around the world. The Australia Council for the Arts is currently offering international residency opportunities for Australian artists in a variety of exciting international locations. The Pirate88 2016 Track of the Year song contest is open! There are five categories to choose from, including Fremantle, Western Australia, Youth-Global, Australia, and the World. Applications close 31 October.

DCA GRANTS PROGRAM
The new DCA Grants Program has just been announced, with changes now allowing for individuals, groups and arts organisations to apply for different types of funding in five categories including Creative Development, Commercial Development, Community Engagement, Aboriginal Arts, and Scholarship and Fellowships. DCA encourages all applicants to ensure their applications are in alignment with all criteria and to read all applicant resources.

RADIO FREMANTLE SEEKING ARTISTS

EMERGE YOUTH ART AWARDS
Applications are open for young bands, duos and solos act under 25 to perform at Emerge Youth Art Awards on Saturday 20 August 2-6pm. This is a paid performance opportunity for bands suitable for an art exhibition and awards ceremony. CITY OF JOONDALUP ARTS DEVELOPMENT SCHEME
