CITY OF JOONDALUP $10,000 GRANT ROUNDS
The Arts Development Scheme closing dates for 2017. The aim of the scheme is to bring professional performing arts companies and artists into the City of Joondalup. Funding is available to professional performing arts organizations in Western Australia to develop an audience base in the northern metropolitan area of Perth. BUILDING BETTER REGIONS FUND - NOW OPEN
Building Better Regions Fund supports the Australian Government’s commitment to create jobs, drive economic growth and build stronger regional communities into the future. The program will run over four years from 2016-17 to 2019-20.
There are two streams of funding available under the program:
INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS STREAM- The minimum grant amount is $20,000 and the maximum grant amount is $10 million. You must complete your project by 31 December 2019.
COMMUNITY INVESTMENTS STREAM – The minimum grant amount is $5,000 and the maximum grant amount is $10 million, however given the nature of eligible projects we expect most grants will be under $100,000.
You must complete your project within 12 months of executing the grant agreement with the Commonwealth and by 31 December 2019.
AUDIBLE EDGE – TURA’S FREE IMPROV PROGRAM
Ingar Zach is in Perth as part of Audible Edge for Tura’s iMprov program including workshops, performances and special projects has been established to encourage the growth of free improvisation in WA. A collective of up to 20 players from various musical backgrounds are now meeting on a regular basis for workshops with local and visiting artists. 2017 ART MUSIC FUND: APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN
Art music composers are now invited to apply for the 2017 Art Music Fund. A pool of A$100,000 is on offer for the creation of new commissioned work that is innovative, displays professional compositional craft and represents a benchmark of excellence in its field. Launched in 2016, the Art Music Fund has already provided grants to 12 Australasian composers including Liza Lim, Sandy Evans, Cat Hope, Erkki Veltheim and Dan Thorpe. Applications close 21 February 2017, 5pm AEDT.
The Western Australian New Music Archive is an interactive web portal presenting a collection of content related to the history of new music in Western Australia. You will find a range of material here including audio and video recordings, images, and a range of documents. The original collection has been drawn from the Tura and ABC Classic FM archives, but it is hoped that the collection will be added to through the participation of those involved in the new music scene in Western Australia.

SHOOT THE MOO IS BACK FOR 2017
The SHOOT THE MOO competition is returning for its fourth year, offering budding snappers aged between 16 – 25 the opportunity to shoot D.R.A.M. from the pit at the front of stage at Groovin The Moo, under the guidance of one of the touring GTM photography team. You’ll need to submit three of your finest photos and explain in 150 words or less why you should win. Submissions close 13 February 2017.
ROYALTIES FOR REGIONS CREATIVE REGIONS FUNDING
Managed by the Department of Culture and the Arts, the Artists In The House is a residencies fund for Local Government Authorities (LGAs) or not-for-profit organisations that own or operate eligible performing arts venues and entertainment centres in regional WA. Funding will support the costs of professional WA performing artists to be in residence at a venue, and collaborate with local communities and arts organisations. Artists in the House opens in February 2017.
APRA AMCOS ART MUSIC FUND GRANT OPPORTUNITY
Art music composers have the chance to share in $100,000 worth of funding to create new commissioned, work thanks to the APRA AMCOS Art Music Fund. The funding is available for the creation of commissioned work that is innovative, displays professional compositional craft and represents a benchmark of excellence in its field. Applications close on the 21 February 2017 at 5pm (AEDT).

The Pack Australia is a web-based streaming platform that will enable any business playing recorded music to stream curated, all original, all local music tailored to their individual spaces and business types. DCA GRANTS PROGRAM
The new DCA Grants Program has been changed, now allowing for individuals, groups and arts organisations to apply for different types of funding in five categories including Creative Development, Commercial Development, Community Engagement, Aboriginal Arts, and Scholarship and Fellowships. DCA encourages all applicants to ensure their applications are in alignment with all criteria and to read all applicant resources.

Rev is calling out to WA musicians to come forward with music meets film ideas for possible presentation at the July 2017 event – which is incidentally celebrating its 20th anniversary. Rev has a long history in presenting high-quality music/film concepts from Goblin Plays Suspiria, to Siouxsie and the Banshees’ Steven Severin to Phillip Johnston playing Melies to Viola Dana playing Buster Keaton to Sonic Youth’s Lee Renaldo’s own brand of performance. FLYING MUSICIANS ASSOCIATION 2017 SOLO MUSIC SCHOLARSHIP
The 2017 Solo Music Scholarship program will fund scholarships to high school students who have been nominated by their band/music director. This scholarship is unique as it offers the recipient the opportunity to learn to fly. The selected student will be awarded a flight training scholarship with a participating flight instructor or school in his or her area. Flying Musicians Association members will be there to mentor that student pilot in both aspirations — aviation and music. Deadline for nominations is Tuesday 31 January 2017.
