New board and staff appointments see WAM moving from strength to strength

WAM is excited to welcome Clive Hodson of Perfect Pitch Publishing to the WAM Board. With his extensive knowledge of the music sector both nationally and internationally and his previous Board experience, Clive will be an incredible asset to the WAM board.

We’re also thrilled to announce that WAM’s Business Manager Livia Carré has been appointed to the newly created position of General Manager. Since joining WAM in January 2016, Livia’s finance background and innate understanding of the music industry has seen her assume a natural leadership role at WAM. The new position will enable her to provide greater impact across WAM’s activities.

On the appointment of Clive Hodson, WAM Board President Al Taylor said, ‘it is a real pleasure and privilege to have Clive at the table. Aside from his significant and highly relevant experience in the industry, he is a seasoned Board professional and a true gentleman’.

Clive is the Managing Director of Perfect Pitch Publishing Pty Ltd (represented in 18 countries globally with over 25,000 copyrights under management) / Perfect Pitch Digital (Digital Content Management) and Consultainment (Music Education). He is also, the Deputy Chairman and Board Director of AMPAL (The Australasian Music Publishers Association), a Board Director of AMCOS (Australasian Mechanical Copyright Owners Society Limited), and an industry peer of the Australia Council for the Arts. Clive guest lecturers at North Metropolitan TAFE and WAAPA, holds a Certificate of Education (London School of Teachers – UNSW) and can now add WAM Board Director to his long list of achievements.

Clive Hodson said, “it’s an absolute honour to be appointed to the WAM Board. Throughout my whole career, which started in Perth, I have been a massive supporter of WA music. The enormity of the talent in both the creative and management of music, in WA, is now recognised not only nationally but globally. I’m proud and excited to be a part of an organisation whose objectives are to support and develop WA Music at all levels”.

Livia is a member of Chartered Accountants Australia with over 20 years’ experience in governance, corporate accounting and finance in a wide range of industries including music, hospitality and mining. No stranger to the music industry, she is co-owner of Artisan Music studios and Creative Shelf Photography, a vocalist, songwriter and passionate music photographer.

“Livia has been an important part of the WAM team for the past three years, increasingly taking responsibility for WAM’s administration, beyond her role as Business Manager. I think this appointment gives WAM a mature and robust oversight across all its activities and allows me to focus on positioning WAM to best support WA artists and the local music sector”, said WAM CEO Mike Harris.
