Music Council of Australia transforms

Music Australia is the new name for the Music Council of Australia, launched on Friday 18 September to celebrate the organisation’s 21st birthday. Music Australia is a fifty member not-for profit national umbrella body representing all aspects of Australian music. Their activities span education, community and the professional industry.

Music Australia Chairman Michael Smellie states, “We want to strengthen our role as a respected and independent leader in Australian music. The name Music Australia embodies our mission to be a powerful and influential voice for advancing all aspects of musical life in Australia.”

The re brand signifies a transformation over the past 18 months seeing the first ever office open in Sydney, CEO and staff positions created, new strategy, programs and engagement activities developed and implemented, and now the unveiling of the new branding and website. The new website www.musicaustralia, brings together a wealth of music information services and resources.
