Launching Higher Ground

31 Jul

WAM is delighted to announce that applications for music management workshop series Higher Ground are now open.

Aimed at music managers in the early to mid stages of their careers Higher Ground is a bespoke workshop program open to all WA-based music managers who want to take their careers to the next level and offers unparalleled access to top level management advice and networking opportunities with some of Australia’s most experienced managers and industry leaders.

Facilitated by Scott Adam (Coordinator of Music Business CIT, ex-manager Ruby Boots) the series features presentations from Heath Bradby (Karnivool), Correne Wilkie (The Cat Empire), Tom Harris (Managing Director White Sky, manager The Little Stevies), Jake Snell (Boom Bap Pow!, Stillwater Giants, Tired Lion), Ken Milling (organisational psychologist, Integral Development) plus many others and will cover topics such as Strategy, Publicity & Marketing, Business Management, Touring and much, much more.

The four-part series commences in late August and culminates in a networking session with industry delegates at the WAM Conference in November. Participants will also walk away with a customised business plan that has been informed by the expert advice of the course presenters.

Spaces are limited and WAM is seeking expressions of interest by 10am Monday 18 August.

Successful applicants will also be required to pay a one-off course fee of $110 (WAM members) / $160 (non-members). But with so much invaluable advice and networking opportunities on offer this is a series not to be missed by all emerging WA-based music managers keen to find ways to excel at music management!
