Gozzy Rock calls for all original, unsigned artists

Gozzy Rock is the City of Gosnells’ annual contemporary music competition, which promotes original music from emerging bands all over Western Australia. Entries are open to WA bands / performers of any style or genre. The competition is open to original and unsigned solo artists as well as duos or bands with at least one member who is under 25 and not a former major winner.

Entries are currently open here and close on the Friday 22 July at 4:30pm. The heats/workshops are on Saturday 6 August/Sunday 7 August and the final will be held on Saturday 20 August.

Casinodreams took out last year’s battle of the bands competition which has been running for 29 years and gives emerging artists a platform to promote their own music, the competition gave them the momentum to start making waves in the local music scene.

The winner of Gozzy Rock receives a cash prize of $5,000 and a recording package worth $1600 at Soundlab @Amherst, which has a digital recording studio.

Second prize winner walks away with $1000 cash and a $1200 recording package, while the Encouragement Award recipient will secure $500 cash and an $800 SoundLab recording package.
