WAM has started programming entertainment every Wednesday evening over six weeks to celebrate the opening of Yagan Square and present Beats & Bites. Get along to the Yagan Square Amphitheater every Wednesday during March and early April from 5pm-9pm and catch some great bands and beats while you eat your bites!

Performing this week are Philip Bartlett Band, Pipeline Band, Tanaya Harper and DJ Elsewhere/Rebecca.

The Yagan Square precinct boasts a Market Hall of international cuisine and local produce, digital tower and canopy, amphitheatre, children’s playscape and a new inner city mall connecting William Street from the CBD to Northbridge. The precinct design reflects Aboriginal stories and the unique Western Australian landscape. In collaboration with the Whadjuk Working Party, the project team has created a unique destination that will strengthen the local and international understanding of Aboriginal culture.

Philip Bartlett Band
Phil is an award winning singer song writer and a recent member of the well-known and respected Band, Bartlett Brothers. Phil is currently performing Solo shows and writing for he’s first solo album. Phil’s performances are recognised all over Australia and described as Heart felt straight from the soul with amazing musicianship with huge vocal harmonies. With a great range of tunes. Phil is known for his well known Original song writing performances and currently working on recording his first solo album in 2018 inspired by the death of his Brother Jason Bartlett who passed in 2017.

Pipeline Band
The Pipeline Band formed back in 1990 and has been together for almost 25 years, with various members. After a winning numerous Battle of The Bands competitions around the state, The Pipeline Band released their debut album ‘One Horse Town’ in 2002. The band now features four Garlett family members, Shane, Allen, Clinton and Clayton.

Tanaya Harper
Tanaya Harper is a Perth based grunge/pop songwriter. Her unique style produces effortlessly catchy and haunting works, filled with airy vocals and honest, unapologetic lyrics. Since returning from spending 2015 in Melbourne, she’s built a distinct reputation for herself as a dynamic songwriter and compelling vocalist. Tanaya is also the lead singer of Perth band ‘Bells Rapids’.

DJ – Elsewhere/Rebecca
All DJ’s performing at Yagan Square are members of WOMPP (Women of Music Production Perth). WOMPP is a platform for female, transgender and non-binary music makers to share and discuss music production.
