With headliners that span everything from heavy rock to Aussie hip hop, pop and beyond, SOTA’s line-up includes a mix of WA favourites, old and new. Many of these artists will be returning from international or national tours to join us on home soil.

Alt-Rocker’s Birds of Tokyo are set to take to the stage for their first WA performance of 2018. Indie-Pop favorites San Cisco will get the crowd moving to their irresistibly dance-able tunes. Drum and Bass prodigy Shockone returns to Perth following his ‘Bleed Black’ tour and will inevitably tear the roof off with his electrified distortion.

The collaborative effort of Mamakin and Spender together bring Americana to WA off the back of their ‘Golden Magnetic’ tour. Rising star Stella Donnelly who swept up at last years WAM awards will undoubtedly woo the crowd with her topical lyrics, whimsical persona and insatiable charm.

Psych-Rockers Psychedelic Porn Crumpets bring sonic destruction back to Perth having recently played both Groovin the Moo and Big Pineapple Music Festival. Hip-Hop veterans Downsyde perform for the first time with new member Beni Bjah. New kid on the block Arno Faraji will be showing the crowd whats he’s made of, showcasing both self-produced beats and mad flow.

Sizzling hot rock outfit The Southern River Band will get everyone on their feet. Alternative garage band CALMLY bring their gritty, grim and angelic sounds for our listening pleasure. Indie pop talent Carla Geneve gracing us with her striped back folk-rock sounds.

Acoustic artist Sydnee Carter who has an extensive list if accomplishments, including taking out WAM’s Song of the Year grand prize last year, giving us a taste of her talents. Karrajarri man John Bennett with David Hymas nominated for multiple WAM awards sharing traditional stories through music. And garage pop band Spacey Jane set to dazzle crowds with their sticky jams.

In addition to these epic sounds we have plenty of food, drink and activities to keep you hydrated and your energy levels high enough for dancing all day long. Feast on a range of delicious foods from a swathe of food trucks at the International Eat Street or, for the first time we have Bars, Bites and Beats; featuring Insta-worthy bites that showcase incredible local produce and Bar Pop’s unique urban-cool bars. Bar, Bites and Beats is every foodie and music lovers dream.

SOTA Festival is a collaboration derived from the desire to support, nurture and grow the creative opportunities for local artists, and to further position contemporary music as a leading cultural identifier for WA. The popularity and awareness of SOTA continues to grow from year to year and is a key feature on the WA music calendar.
