The Perth International Jazz Festival (PIJF) makes its much anticipated return to the city for its third year.

Presented by Brookfield, over 52 incredible jazz performances will take place across 17 exceptional venues throughout Perth. The three-day festival will feature a blend of ticketed and free community events by a host of celebrated local, national and international jazz artists.

In a first for the Festival, PIJF will collaborate with Celebrate WA for the WA Day Long Weekend, sharing stages at the Perth Cultural Centre. On May 31, PIJF will present ‘Jazz at the Cultural Centre’, with featured performances from the Festival’s headline artists including renowned jazz bassist Richard Bona (NYC) as well as range of homegrown and international talent.

Perth acts to set stage include Penny King, Mitch Boag, Fat Sparrow, Graham Wood Quartet, Jessie Gordon, Johannes Luebbers Dectet, Phil Hatton, Marc Osborne Quintet, John Septimus Roe, Junkadelic, Trisk and many more.

Ticketed performances will also play at Brookfield Place for ‘Jazz Quartet’, The Ellington Jazz Club, The George and Laneway Lounge. Numerous FREE events will be performed at Brookfield Place, State Theatre Centre Courtyard, Perth Cultural Centre’s Urban Orchard & PICA Stage, The Northbridge Piazza, Stables Bar, Creative Labs, The Terrace Hotel, The Moon and Forrest Place.

Unmissable festival highlights include Perth-born Parisian, revelled for her jazz and hip-hop style, Rachel Claudio (Paris/ex-Perth); award winning vocalist and songwriter, Tina Harrod (SYD), Richard Bona (NYC), recognised as one of the planets five revelations of the last decade; Grammy nominated pianist, keyboardist, composer and arranger, Barney McAll (NYC) and leading Polish Jazz band, Artur Dutkiewicz Trio (Poland).

With over 35 Jazz festivals across Australia, PIJF, now in its third year, is the only dedicated Jazz festival in Western Australia. The Festival’s aim is to bring inspiring music by many talented musicians to Perth in an accessible and vibrant way.
