RTRFM’s flagship event In The Pines will feature 20 of Perth’s finest live acts across two stages in the lush green surrounds of UWA’s Somerville Auditorium on Sunday, 19 April. For over two decades, In The Pines has celebrated Perth’s incredible pool of musical talent, by programming the best in local emerging and established acts. The third and final round of acts performing at this year’s festival were revealed on the morning’s edition of Breakfast with Caitlin.

Get ready to experience retro garage rock quartet Thee Gold Blooms; the delicate acoustic folk- pop of Eduardo Cossio Quartet; the hypnotic, layered sounds and soaring vocals of Felicity Groom; the warm, fuzzed-out psych-rock of SpaceManAntics; Grim Fandango’s ballsy brand of punk rock; and an extremely rare performance from recently reformed ‘90s indie rock darlings, The Rosemary Beads.

Expect a frenetic, discordant cacophony of guitars from kooky garage rockers, Hideous Sun Demon; the deep baritone and Americana-tinged sounds of Husband; cinematic, dreamy melodies from indie rock five-piece, Lanark; the brooding, gravelly intensity and controlled musical chaos of Maurice Flavel’s Intensive Care; the always spellbinding and ever-evolving composer and vocal powerhouse that is Rachael Dease; dirty in-your-face sounds of DIY street punks, Shit Narnia; and an ear-shattering set from melodic hardcore brutalists, Statues.

This round-up of some of Perth’s best and most diverse acts follows the first announcement, which included Abbe May, Aborted Tortoise, Fait, Gina Williams and Guy Ghouse, Methyl EthelThe Jangle Brothers and The Wilds. In The Pines is one of Perth’s most highly anticipated annual local music events, and counts some of WA’s biggest musical exports amongst its alumni, including Tame Impala, San Cisco, Jebediah, The Sleepy Jackson, Eskimo Joe, The Panics, and Pond.
