The full line-up for the City of Fremantle’s 2016 Hidden Treasures Winter Music Series has been unveiled, revealing an enormous list of 45 leading WA acts, local legends, one-off reformations and tomorrow’s next big things.
Every Thursday in July, five unique venues throughout the historic West End of Fremantle will come alive with an eclectic mix of live music intended to draw audiences aged 18 to 80.
With its wildly diverse line-up, Hidden Treasures is curated to give punters a snapshot of the state’s leading contemporary acts, the chance to revisit their favourite classic bands or to discover a completely new diamond in the rough. This year’s highlights include a carefully-curated WA hip hop showcase selected by WAM Song Of The Year winners Beni Bjah and Mathas, an intimate evening with WA-born national treasure Tim Rogers and his You Am I bandmate Davey Lane, and rare reformation shows by Freo favourites The Flairz and The Honeyriders.
In a coup for the festival, iconic Fremantle act the The Kill Devil Hills (interview here!) will also perform their much-loved album Heathen Songs in full at the Navy Club, supported by local ragamuffin and nationally lauded songwriter Peter Bibby.
The 2016 Hidden Treasures Winter Music Series kicks off on Thursday 7 July 2016 and a $15 ticket will get you a night’s entry to all five Hidden Treasures Winter Music Series venues. Tickets are only available on the door.
