Ah, the music industry. Insane guitar solos, beautiful women/men, crowd surfing, tax compliance, copyright laws. Yes, believe it or not, those last two are extremely important. Law and finance aren’t always the sexiest of topics, but they are vital ones to educate yourself on in order to forge a successful career in the music industry.
APRA AMCOS and WAM are proud to present the second installment of 2016’s Music Industry Sundowner Series (MISS). Let’s get together to discuss dollars and sense in the music industry – just in time for the end of financial year!
Happening at Babushka (upstairs Leederville Hotel) from 6:00pm-8:00pm, we are excited to welcome Kylie Thompson, a tax expert who specialises in working with artists and Andrew Fuller (via Skype) who is a lawyer with extensive experience in commercial and general law in regards to the entertainment industry. Our two guest industry experts have a wealth of knowledge and experience and are eager to share their advice on running a small business, including how to maximise your income, best handle your tax and an essential guide to music copyright and agreements.
