LYRIC WRITING AND JAMMING WORKSHOP presented by the City of Canning in partnership with WAM.
Got a flair for words and songs or just want to learn how to song write? Bring along your musical instrument of choice or just pen and paper and enjoy the atmosphere playing with words and music.
This year’s Lyric Writing and Jamming Workshop takes place at Bently Library on Thursday 22 February from 5PM – 7PM with co-facilitators and well renowned WA musician’s Nick Allbrook (POND) and Amber Fresh (Rabbit Island).
Nick Allbrook, original member of WA psych-outfit Tame Impala and front-man for POND, is a one-of-a-kind individual who has recently also been focusing on developing his solo music. He has been nominated for numerous WAM Awards and is an incredible songwriter and poet.
Amber Fresh of Rabbit Island established the bands dreamy bedroom slow-fi sound writing and producing music alone on her laptop. Rabbit Island now encompasses the efforts of over thirty different interchanging band members. Her writing draws you in with her ethereal stylings. Amber has been nominated as WAM Multi-Instrumentalist of the Year and Solo Act of the Year.

Lyric Writing and Jamming Workshop is part of the Libraries Are Loud series presented by the City of Canning to transform libraries into spaces for inspiration and creativity as they continue their journey on becoming much more than places to be quiet.
