Fairbridge Festival is undoubtedly one of Australia’s most popular family camping festivals. This friendly celebration of folk, roots, blues, acoustic, Celtic, a capella and world music takes place annually in April in the traffic-free, self-contained bushland site of Fairbridge Village on the South West Highway, 5 km north of Pinjarra and 100 km south of Perth’s outlying south-eastern suburbs. This year inspiring Noongar singer-songwriter Gina Williams is welcomed into the Fairbridge Festival Patron fold.
The first line-up features 78 artists, including local music acts Koi Child, The Lammas Tide, Amanda Merdzan, Bill Lawrie and Paul Gioia, Baba Lala, Flame Trees, Jane Germain & The Lazy Boys, Katie J White, Kiersten & Cionne, King George Sounds, Nodes, Raksha, Ross Vegas, Sparrow, The Black Chooks, The Woods + more.
The new and re-purposed venues will significantly enhance your experience of the festival and add new layers of interaction and engagement, including:
- Look for the new Djindalux circus-style marquee behind the chapel. The venue takes its name from a fusion of two ancient languages – Noongar and Latin – translating as starlight.
- The Loft becomes a participatory theatre space with Playback Theatre; watch and listen as your stories are played out for you by this talented team of actors and musicians.
- The Clubhouse becomes another interactive space. Come and chat to our artists and enjoy their stories and informal music sessions. Also here you’ll find Curtin University sustainability talks, information sessions, vocal concerts and plenty of other events.
- Mandja and Ruby’s continue as the iconic spaces they have become for delivering captivating programs of world-class acoustic music.
Early Bird tickets go on sale at 7am on Monday 9 February.
