Each year, professionals from music, film, advertising, digital and the visual arts travel to one of the world’s most beautiful locations, Margaret River, to share recent developments in their disciplines as well as emerging trends in a series of workshops and talks at the Emergence Creative Festival. By bringing together creatives from a wide range of areas, the four-day event encourages participants to look beyond their own specialisation and broaden their thinking. You’ll leave inspired, refreshed and ready to create something great.
Emergence Creative runs from Wednesday March 29 to Saturday 1 April, 2017.

SONGWRITING WORKSHOP WITH MEMBERS OF BIRDS OF TOKYO
Wednesday 29 March, 2pm-5pm
Adam Spark and Glenn Sarangapany are the musical force behind ARIA Award Winning and Multi-Platinum selling Birds of Tokyo. As if an already highly successful career and creation of mega-songs “Lanterns”, “Plans”, “This Fire”, “Anchor”, “Wild at Heart” and most recently the Triple JJJ High Rotation powerhouse “Brace” wasn’t enough, the pair now also front a new venture in Electric Sheep, which focuses on composition and sound design for the visual mediums of Film / Tv / Advertising / Installations.
They’ll be holding a workshop designed for artists wanting professional knowledge on the impossible task of explaining life in a three minute and thirty second pop song. Adam Spark and Glenn Sarangapany discuss getting it right, getting it not quite right and missing the mark completely.
OPENING NIGHT CREATIVE CRAWL
Wednesday 29 March, 6pm – late
This is a free opening night event, which also marks the start of the Margaret River Pro. There will be heaps of live music at over 10 venues on the main street of Margs, including performances from Elli Schoen, Ben Catley, Paige Valentine, Michael Triscari, Tom Day, Moonlighter, Southern River Band and Callum Vincent, Brayden Sibbald.
PRODUCTION WORKSHOP WITH ANNA LAVERTY
Thursday 30 March, 3pm-6pm
Melbourne based Producer/Mixer/Engineer/Writer Anna Laverty cut her teeth at London’s Miloco Studios alongside multi-award winning producers Paul Epworth (Adele) and Ben Hillier (Blur), working on records for Florence and The Machine, Depeche Mode and Bloc Party amongst others.
Since then, she has also been the vocal engineer for artists such as Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds and Cut Copy, with producing credits for Courtney Barnett and Ruby Boots. This will be a great opportunity for songwriters to learn production techniques from an esteemed industry professional.
PERSONAL BRAND FUTURE-CASTING WORKSHOP WITH JENNIFER SULLIVAN

CLOSING NIGHT PARTY!

The not-to-be-missed closing party at The White Elephant, an incredible space on Gnarabup Beach. The official wrap party will treat delegates and guests to food from the Margaret River Hospitality Group, some of the regions finest beers and wines and music and entertainment all night. Musical guests include Mosquito Coast, Lilt, The Axiom and Kachina DJ’s.This night is also where they share some of what’s been created throughout the festival and celebrate with our keynote and colab speakers.
